The End of an Era for a Local Mom and Pop Shop
The owners’ of Wagner’s Fine Luggage and Gifts are “packing up their bags'' and retiring. One of the oldest luggage stores in the country, the shop has been a staple in the community since its opening in 1853. The current owners have had the pleasure of serving their customers within a business running strong for over a century.
The Wolfe family acquired Wagner’s in 1963 when it was located on Greenwich Avenue. As the years went by, the store moved to its current location in the High Ridge Shopping Center in 1995 and has been running successfully ever since. Accompanying Marsha and Ed, their children and grandchildren have been helping to ensure the longevity and warm ambience that Wagner’s is known for. From personalized corporate gifts, to family holiday shopping, Wagner’s has served as an outlet for gift giving and travel needs in the community, no matter the occasion. Now, 58 years after first taking ownership, Marsha and Ed are ready to move on to their next adventure.
With a loving heart and a sincere goodbye, Wagner’s is coming to the final chapter in it’s journey and will be closing in the near future. We’d like to thank the Fairfield County community and all of our loyal customers and partners for sharing this experience with us.
